Reimagining Health Summit Recap and What I Learned

Sharing a full recap of my experience at the Reimagining Health Summit, along with what I learned. My attendance and travel was provided through EquiLife as one of the winners of their 100-day Challenge. You don’t have to be an Integrative Health Practitioner to attend – I’d love to see you at the conference next year!

Hi friends! How are ya? How was the weekend? Ours was good, but crazy. It was the Pilot’s Change of Command Ceremony (after 3 years as a commander), school auction, and NCL Tea and Fashion Show. It was all a blast but my social battery is in need of a recharge. I’m spending most of the day in my pajamas working, and will escape for a short hike later – the weather has been a dream!

Now that we’re home from our trip and I’ve had a chance to process everything, I can finally share a full recap of the Reimagining Health Summit. It was my first time attending, and it definitely exceeded my high expectations. I also had time to hang out with my business and health bestie, Giselle!

Reimagining Health Summit Recap + what I learned

About the RHS and Featured Speakers

The Reimagining Health Summit is a conference focused on healthy living and longevity, and is presented by EquiLife and the Integrative Health Practitioner Institute. The EquiLife products, functional labs, and this company have absolutely changed my life in the best possible way, and becoming certified as an IHP is one of the best things I’ve done for my business, the health of myself, my clients, and our family. I’ve learned so much and have been able to connect with an incredible community of IHPs, while supporting a company that I respect and admire greatly.

It’s a three-day conference, and this year’s was in Orlando, FL.

Some of the featured speakers:

– Dr. Stephen Cabral

– Dr. Antonio Jimenez, MD, ND (founder of Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico)

– Dr. Sean Drake, breathwork facilitator

– Dr. Staci Whitman, Functional Dentist

– Roudy Nassif (founder of Vivarays)

– The Mind Pump crew!

– Angi and Arland (co-founders of Mamoosh and HRD//KLL)

– Kate Mills

and so much more.

What I learned:

I took a lot of notes during the conference, which could be spread into multiple blog posts (I’ll spare you hah), but here are some of my top takeaways:

– How energy is tied to mitochondrial function and a keep component to longevity. If you don’t have energy, you don’t have anything.

– How to use methylene blue- I’ve been wanting to try it!

– About hydrogen water and how it can increase hydration 6-10x. I got to try it at the summit and LOVED it. I kind of want a Kangen machine now.

– Stop 2-3 reps before muscle fatigue. You will get the same results without being too sore to maintain consistency.

On LIGHT:

– 1/3 energy from food, 2/3 from light. Blue light at night affects insulin sensitvity and can make you crave more sugar and cabrs

– Morning sunlight 20 min- cloudy 30 min

– Go outside 2 hrs after sunrise to get UVA light – allows you to make seratonin and dopamine

– Wear vivarays harmonizing daytime lenses

– Watch the sunset- light is information

– Turn off overhead lights at night. Use candles and salt lamps

– Wear evening glasses after sunset

– 1 hour before bed switch to red lenses for sleep

– Eyes are rich in mitochondria

– Take off your glasses so you can see book (downloaded this!)

On dental health:

– The mouth is the gut – the gateway to the body and start of digestive tract

– Ask about fillings, root canals, gum disease, periodontal disease with clients

– Microbiome and impact on systemic health

How oral inflammation can contribute to chronic diseases

– heart disease

– RA and other autoimmune

– diabetes

– Respiratory diseases

– Fertility and pregnancy complications

We give the bacteria in our mouth to our babies. Focus on nutrition, anti inflammatory foods, foods to avoid, sugar, and processed foods

Sleep and oral health- airway. How are they sleeping and breathing at night?

Posture and oral health- posture affects jaw and bite, TMJ, headaches and neck pain related to oral health

Toxins: how toxins affect oral health, mycotoxins, heavy metals, reducing exposure to toxins. Mold affects nutrient absorption

Hormonal changes in oral health- gum inflammation, low progesterone can impact collagen

Brush in morning or 30 min after breakfast and tongue scrape

Add baking soda to water pick

Fygg brand, rise well, biocidin (newer one),

Whitening: Lumiineaux

Book: Breath by James Nester

The expo:

The expo at RHS was fairly small (especially compared to the behemoth that was the Biohacking Conference), but quality. So many of my favorite products and companys were there, inclduing EquiLife products for days, Therasage, Air Doctor and AquaTru, Kangen, Vivarays, and more.

There was also a spot for IVs, so Giselle and I got a Meyer’s Cocktail IV with added glutathione (my go-to combo, especially if I’m at conferences, traveling a lot, or feel like I might be fighting something).

VIP/Speaker/Challenge Winner Dinner:

During the conference, we also had an opportunity to attend the VIP dinner as challenge winners. This was a small private event, including EquiLife faculty, the conference speakers, and fellow challenge winners. They really went above and beyond with this dinner, with a gorgeous and healthy four-course meal, open bar, presentations, and recognition.

Surprising pro: the food!!

One of the things that truly blew me away about RHS was the food. I knew that EquiLife and Dr. Cabral put a lot of thought and care into the food that was served, and it was apparent. The food was still festive and fun, while still being nutrient-dense and not greasy at all.

The cockatil hours had sushi one night with multiple types of sushi and mini poke bowls, and the second night was giant charceuterie spreads, hummus, and veggies. The lunches were protein-dense (salmon and chicken) with lots of veggies, and seasoned potatoes, soups, and gluten-free and vegan dessert options.

They had bars set up around the venue during the cocktail hours, which had a signature mocktail each day.

The menu was extremely thoughtful and it was one of the only times I’ve been to a conference and was able to eat food that I love and makes me feel good the entire time.

RHS outfits:

I had some questions on IG about my outfits for RHS so I figured I’d link them here!

This bodysuit

HM skirt

Dolce Vita flats

Nude heels

White sneakers

Cardigan

This BOSS dress

Veronica Beard blazer

Veronice Beard shirtdress

We headed straight to the cruise from the Summit so I had two pack for two trips in a row. I kept all of our Orlando stuff in one suitcase and our cruise stuff in another; it worked out well!

Meeting Dr. Cabral in real life:

One of the highlights of the trip was the ability to meet Dr. Cabral in real life. It’s funny because he was a podcast guest a couple of years ago, and at the time, I didn’t know that much about him. (I did some very basic research before the episode, mostly winging it but figured we’d have a good conversation.) As soon as the episode ended, I knew I wanted to learn as much as possible from him. He’s the real deal and genuinely wants to help as many people as possible. I’m grateful that he’s been my mentor for the past couple of years, and it was amazing to finally meet him in person.

I was also able to meet so many of my IHP colleagues (fellow board members and CPC friends), and EquiLife mentors, in person. It’s an environment where everyone is helping each other grow; it’s pretty exciting and refreshing. I can’t wait to see what EquiLife continues to do in the next few years.

You don’t have to be an Integrative Health Practitioner to attend, but I will say that it’s the best certification I’ve done (I’ve done Level 1, Level 2, and am working through HPH now). You don’t have to currently work in the health and wellness industry to become certified. If you’re interested in learning more, my referral link is here and FITNESSISTA will get you up to $250 off levels 1 and 2.

How often do you travel for work? What’s an event that you look forward to each year?

xoxo

Gina
